Golden & Scher’s seminal work was picked up in other major US cities, and also in the UK, due primarily to DJ Greg Wilson’s passion for music which would ultimately change the face of pop. Hip hop grew out of electro (or electro-funk) with NYC as the nexus of hip hop and rap with its roots defined by the Last Poets in the ’70′s.
