Stanley Clarke

It might not be the best album of his career, but ‘Time Exposure’ was the highpoint of Stanley Clarke’s venture into electrofunk. Recorded in Los Angeles in 1984, you can hear the excitement of the decade within the playing. For me, the most “what the…” moment came when I heard ‘Spacerunner’ – a quantum leap structure driven by nervous drum machine showed Clarke was looking to the future.
