Tim Dry and Sean Crawford, aka Tik & Tok, made some great tracks during the early 80s. Initially the music was intended simply as backing for their robotic mime shows, but records soon followed. Eventhough they got a lot of mainstream attention for their performances, their music remained club-focused and, maybe as a result, their tracks have stood the test of time much better than some of their new romantic contemporaries – indeed, some of their more atmospheric b-sides are almost Drexciyan. The club electro track ‘Cool Running’ is from 1983, around the time they were supporting Gary Numan on his ‘Warriors’ tour.
