“Change” is the word of choice on this historic day, but don’t worry, I’m not going to get all political… here’s a quick look at one of the finer 80s r&b groups:


Change was the launch pad that enabled Luther Vandross to start a successful solo career, but the track posted below is from a later line-up and is produced by Citinite favourites, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Not long having split with Prince, and fresh from success with The SOS Band, this track showed that Jam & Lewis were the producers to work with. Combining slick 808s with neck-breaking funk, this was change you could believe in.

And for those out at the polls today, don’t have a change of heart… vote Obama.
