Some of you have probably already seen Maestro, the documentary that covers the birth of DJ club culture in New York, but I only just found out about it. I almost didn’t watch it, feeling I’d heard enough about Larry Levan and the Paradise Garage, but this documentary actually has a lot more to offer. It features pretty much everyone involved in the scene (who was still alive when it was filmed) and gives a good impression of what it was like.

Here’s part one of eight – you should be able to follow through on the YouTube links for the rest (part nine is missing but is probably just the credits).
